Please join us in congratulating the Merage Jewish Community Center of Orange County on the launch of their new website. There are so many creative and exciting aspects to share about this new site but one of the most noteworthy features is the search ability for users. Using a search box element on your website is a vital way to help visitors navigate through pages and find the exact information they are searching for.
Let’s dive deeper into showcasing more innovative features such as navigation simplicity and top design elements on this Jewish Community Center’s brand-new website.
The site was designed with bright and vibrant colors which perfectly represents the Los Angeles area where the Merage JCC is located. The homepage boasts geometric design elements and unique typography. Images across the homepage (and website) are used with a color-filtering overlay. This JCC is able to custom overlay any image they desire using 立博客户端app下载 Freedom. There is also a popup widget on the homepage that can be updated at any time with important notifications for members to see.
Also featured on the homepage is a Happening Today component that showcases various programs and events that members can participate in on-site, online, or on-demand. Members can also click the browse all event button to access a calendar with all fitness programs listed out for two weeks. The search can be narrowed by activity, age, format, and date.
The search ability aspects of the site give users access to the specific information they came to the site to find. One of the most important places to feature a search bar is in the top navigation bar. On Merage JCC’s site, members can use the search to type in any type of event or program. For example, a search for “pilates” will show all the upcoming events whether it is onsite, online, or on-demand so members can peruse the results on the Experience the J landing page.
A trend we’re seeing JCCs implement is using simplified navigation. The Merage JCC uses three main categories in their top search navigation: Camps, Our Community, and Experiences. To the right of the navigation is the search bar feature.
To offer an even better user experience, there is also a hamburger menu to the right of the search bar that offers access to more of the interior pages of the site along with two search bars. A call-to-action button also appears at the bottom of the sidebar navigation for visitors to learn more about membership and how to get started.
The Camp page is also uniquely designed with color overlaid imagery, a statistics counter with summer camp facts, and registration calls-to-action for camps specific to different age groups.
The Staff Directory page gives a great introduction to each member of the team at Merage JCC. Users can search for staff by category or by clicking on their profile picture to learn more about the team member.
For those interested in learning more even about Merage JCC, they can head over to the Experiences landing page to view embedded videos from YouTube about the JCC and scroll through photos from the Global Teen Fellows. At the bottom of the page is also an engaging component where visitors can find recommended content in the You May Also Like section.
These are just a few of the many new and exciting features on this site. This redesign has positioned the Merage JCC to seamlessly migrate to 立博客户端app下载’s JCC management tools with 立博客户端app下载 Freedom.
Freedom for JCCs is a total software solution that includes member management, program management, reservations, scheduling, early childhood and camps, and more. If you're interested in integrating any of these website design, navigation or functionality features or learn more about Freedom Software for your Jewish Community Center, please reach out to us and someone from our team will be in contact with you.
